Weekend Roundup - October 11-12

8U Mites

From Coach Dean: On Saturday, the Mite-y Jr. Blue Hens played a competitive Chester County team on the road. The action was back and forth but the Hens prevailed, winning by a goal. On Sunday, the Hens had their first game at home. Bringing the energy and their skills, they dominated the Delco Phantoms, winning 9-1.

10U A Squirts

From Coach Chris: 10UA played in the Knock off the Rust Tournament in New York this weekend to kick off our tournaments for this season.  The final outcome was not what we all ultimately wanted as we weren't able to secure a championship banner to be hung in the rink, but to say that I'm proud of this team for the showing that we had would be an understatement.  Our first tournament as a team... We made it to the championship game, recorded a 3-1-1 record, achieved 2 shutouts, had a +17 goal differential, allowed the least goals against of any of the teams in our bracket, and played the best hockey in consecutive games that we've played thus far this season.  I am incredibly proud of this group for what they accomplished this weekend, and it was exciting to see how far they've come as players and teammates in such a short period of time.

10U B Squirts

The 10U B team traveled to Hershey, PA for their first tournament of the season, where they faced some tough competition and battled hard until the very end. Although they didn’t come out on top, the team showed tremendous growth—especially in puck movement and offensive play.

A big congratulations to our Tournament MVP, Jack Anthony, who put us on the board three times Sunday’s game with his 3rd hat trick of the season! Jack worked tirelessly all weekend, displaying excellent stick handling and determination on the attack.

We’d also like to recognize some standout performances:
