16U A American
The A American Midget team travelled to Exton on Saturday afternoon to face the Kings, and travelled to Aston on Sunday morning to take on the Delco Phantoms.
From Coach Jesse:
"16UA American started the weekend Saturday evening with a rematch against the Exton Kings in Exton. Exton had made some comments on social media after our last win against them in OT a few weeks ago, so we knew they were ready. Justin Silver started the scoring off by stealing the puck in the top of the zone and buried a glove side shot for a 1-0 lead. Exton struck back and tied it 1-1. "Chips" Bockhorn then scored on a nice pass from Wyatt Bolin to take a 2-1 lead. Exton then came back and scored three unanswered to take a 4-2 lead. The boys were calm and resilient! We use that word a lot in the room and around the team. You have to have that fight to get it back. We always talk about Michael Jordan and how he was cut from his basketball team. The boys were resilient and came storming back. Tanner Kinkus brought us roaring back on a goal from Wyatt Bolin. Wyatt Bolin then scored on passes from Tanner Kinkus and "Chips" Bockhorn to tie the score at four. Minutes later, Justin Silver capitalized on a rebound and put us up 5-4 with 32 seconds left in the second period. The third period was back and forth with some outstanding saves from Quinn Kelley, and good defensive play by the entire team. The Kings eventually pulled the goalie, and Kaiden McCoury won a huge battle to steal the puck and chip it over to Justin Silver, who (with outstanding hockey IQ and something we always discuss when we have an open net) gained the red line before shooting and putting them away. That sealed the win for us and also gave Justin a hatty. Everyone played as a unit, and it was a great team win.
Sunday morning, we traveled to Delco for a 9:30 AM game. Bail money was in the glove box as Delco is always chippy. We started rough - going down 2-0 early, but Michael Jordan intervened and the boys never quit. We rattled off four straight goals. Wyatt Bolin had two and Tanner Kinkus had two: Kinkus from Silver, Bolin from Kinkus and "Chips," Bolin from Cayden Spencer and Ethan Chantler,, and Kinkus from "JP" (Jackson Persoleo). Delco scored a late goal, but after an uncharacteristic start, Brandon Aungst was again a brick wall. I cannot say enough about our two goalies. Quinn Kelley and Brandon Aungst are absolute units in net. They are the number one and number four rated goalies in the DVHL and are pushing each other to get better every day together. I love these kids and the team they are becoming. Play of the game goes to "JP" for a huge play at the top of the zone stopping a breakaway in the third. Everyone is working hard and together and it’s fun to be around.
As an extra - if anyone hasn’t gotten there fill of Guns N Roses, head up to IceWorks Rink Two. You will get your fill.
Change the music!"
Next up - the Bantam A American team has a home game on Sunday afternoon against Chester County. |

10U A American
The Squirt A American team had a home game on Saturday afternoon against the Snider Hockey Parent team, and another home game Sunday morning against the Quakers.
From Coach Chris:
"10UA had two tilts this past weekend, earning shutouts in each of the games. Keeping opposing teams off the board is not just an effort of goaltending, but a team approach to defense that requires each player on the ice to execute their defensive responsibilities. The boys are buying into that strategy, and have been shutting down opponents weekend after weekend, which has led to us earning five shutouts thus far this year with a goal differential of +67. Sunday's game was a real test against the Quakers, the top team in the division. Again, the boys executed on our defensive strategy using good defense to create offense, putting up six goals while holding the first place team to a goose egg. The frustration of the opposition's players and coaches continued to mount throughout the game as we continued to shut them down, and I was proud of the way the boys kept their cool, kept their foot on the gas pedal, continued to execute on our game plan, and played hockey the way that we know how to play hockey."
Next up - the Squirt A team have the weekend off.

8U B
The Mites faced the Campus Wild Conners team on Saturday morinng in Downingtown, and faced the Quakers Huyutte team on Sunday morning at home.
From Coach Chris:
"8U had two games this weekend, with a win on Saturday over the Campus Wild and a close loss on Sunday against the Quakers.
However, all of this was overshadowed by the Gibilisco family being in a head-on collision on the way to the game on Saturday morning. They are banged up, but thankfully, all will be ok in time. Stone suffered a broken ankle and will be out while he recovers. On Monday night, we had practice and team pictures, and Stone and his family made the trip to be with the team. All of us were happy to see them and to be able to support them following this awful turn of events. We all hope they make a speedy recovery and can’t wait to have Stone back on the ice!"
Next up - the Mites will travel to Philly on Saturday morning to face Snider Hockey, and will face Chester County at home on Sunday morning. |
