16U A American
The A American Midget team played the Central Penn Panthers on Saturday afternoon in Lancaster, and faced them again at home on Sunday morning.
From Coach Jesse:
"Saturday afternoon, 16 U A American traveled to the lovely death trap we all know as Regency Ice Rink to play Central Penn. Six seconds in, Wyatt Bolin scored to go up early on a pass from - you guessed it - "Chips" Bockhorn. Less than a minute later, Ethan Chantler buried a pass from Jason Tamin with a secondary from Cayden Spencer. During that play, one of the players from the home team speared himself on the unsafe Zamboni doors and broke a rib. Wait, it gets better! The boys didn’t let up. We were up 5-0 when a defenseman from CPP got through and put one past Quinn Kelley. That pissed the boys off, so they went and scored two more for a 7-1 final. Goal scorers - Well, well, well, Big Mike Brzozowski from Jeet Patel and Ben Zigmond. "Chips" got one from Tanner Kinkus, and Wyatt Bolin got another from Ryan Roth. Tanner Kinkus from "Chips," and then Ethan Chantler got his second from "JP" Jackson Persoleo. Final score: 7-1. Quinn Kelley made some key saves. At the end of the game, one of the players from Central Penn could not stop vomiting - to the point that he was headed to the hospital. We played Central Penn Sunday morning, so I asked his coach if he was OK. The coach said that he ate opossum before the game, and that this is the second time he has done this. Wow.
Sunday morning, we had a mite ice slot at 8:30 AM at home. We talked Saturday night about let downs and warned the boys that CPP would not just lay down for us. CPP scored first to take a 1-0 lead. Kaiden McCoury then scored on a pass from "Chips" Bockhorn. "Chips" then got his own shorty while on the penalty kill to go up 2-1 on a pass from Tanner Kinkus. We had our chances, outshooting them 44-18. We lost a hard fought battle by a final score of 4-2.
Next up, we have Exton at 8:55 PM on Saturday night, in a game that they have been talking smack on social media because we beat them two weeks ago. Sunday morning, we travel to Delco. Everyone has been working extremely hard. The boys know we have a target on our backs and have to bring our best every day. No days off! No bubbles!
I appreciate all those that tell me you enjoy reading about our team. We are on target and tracking!" |
