16U A American
The A American Midget team played Chester County away on Saturday and the Delco Phantoms at home on Sunday.
From Coach Jesse:
"16U A American travelled to the Barn to play Chester County on Saturday. This is a big game every year, as most of the kids know each other and go to school together. The Jr Blue Hens came ready to play and set the tone early. Justin Silver started the scoring on a nice redirect from Ethan Chantler and Jason Tamin. With 26 seconds left in the first, Jeet Patel buried a pass from Chase Wheeler. Four minutes later in the second, Jeet Patel again buried a shot on a pass from Connor Clarke. A fluke face off loose puck snuck by Brandon Aungst to bring the score to 3-1. Ethan Chantler made the score 4-1 on a pass from Cayden Spencer. Brandon Aungst was an absolute wall, turning away all but one.
On Sunday, we were home against Delco. I told the boys that we are the team with a target on our backs - We are the ones that everyone is chasing. Delco came ready to play. We went down 1-0, then 2-0 in the second. We finally got one through on a shot from the point off of the stick of Chase Wheeler to make it 2-1 on the power play. Two minutes later, Delco poked another one home to seal it. The boys played hard and were resilient. They played through adversity and continued to plug away. I am very proud of this group. Even though we lost, it wasn’t because anyone quit. They have grown a ton and all of the hard work is paying off. Second loss of the season, still in first place, still have a target on our backs. Next up, we have a Columbus Day tournament this weekend." |
